Announcing the rebirth of the highly successful “We’re Talking Proud” image campaign that was created in 1981 by Alden Schutte. At that time, it was a message about the pride and many assets of Western New York. Winning sport teams, art galleries, Buffalo Philharmonic, excellent restaurants and more. This memorable campaign has now been revised and updated to deliver a message about today’s community’s pride and resilience. It capitalizes on the memorable brand franchise that was created almost four decades ago.
The new Buffalo Proud campaign was developed by Susan and Alden Schutte to applaud the numerous acts of kindness, caring and discipline currently observed throughout our community. The Schuttes’ anticipate that Buffalo Proud will give an emotional boost to the people of Western New York while imparting a feeling of hope for a brighter and better tomorrow. Once again showing that Buffalonians truly have a spirit of togetherness, a pride in our city’s many strengths and the amazing ability to face new challenges and bounce back better than ever.
However, unlike “We’re Talking Proud”, this campaign was designed with a philanthropic component. Recognizing the economic impact that the COVID19 virus has had on our Community, we felt it was important to offer some financial support to a worthy organization with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Buffalo Proud t-shirts. In this case, we have selected the Buffalo Zoo which depends on their attendance revenue to feed and care for the animals, support staff and provide programming. The 150-year-old Buffalo Zoo (3rd oldest in the nation) is most definitely a Buffalo Proud icon deserving of this support.
